    [Brussels, 01 July 2011] Vodafone Hungary launches its ‘Vodafone for women’s security’ programme, in which Hungarian Women’s Lobby member NANE Women’s Rights Association is a partner. The programme’s press release can be read in English here and in Hungarian here.

    [Nicosia, 01 July 2011] The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies, member of the Cyprus Women’s Lobby, the EWL’s national coordination in this country, expresses its deep concern over the placement of Cyprus in the “Tier 2 Watch List”, according to the annual report of the US State Department Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.     Italy - EWL Coordination welcomes approval of quotas for women on boards of administration

    [Italian Coordination for the EWL, Rome, 29 June 2011] On 28 June 2011, the Italian Chamber of Representatives translated the bill on women’s quotas in boards of administration into law with a bipartisan vote. The new law states that the boards of directors and the supervisory bodies of listed companies and unlisted public companies will be composed by one fifth of women by 2012 and one third by 2015.     EWL General Assembly adopts Emergency Motions addressing the London Olympics, the 'Arab Spring' and the CSW

    [Brussels, 27 June 2011] On 18-19 June 2011, the EWL held its annual General Assembly (GA) in Brussels. Three Emergency Motions were adopted which call on the EWL members to take action and lobby relevant decision-makers with regards to the 1) Olympic Games in London in 2012, 2) support to women in the democratic transformation in the Middle East and North Africa and 3) the Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) in 2012.     Successful launch of EWL campaign ‘Together for a Europe free from prostitution'
