[Brussels, 12 January 2015] Last Friday, the EWL and other EU anti-discrimination networks participated in a roundtable discussion with Frans Timmermans, First Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. On this occasion, the invited organisations agreed on a common statement calling on Frans Timmermans to strengthen equality and fundamental rights protection in the EU.

The European Women’s Lobby urges EU Ministers to push forward the Maternity Leave, Women on Boards and EU Equal Treatment Directives
[Brussels, 10 December 2014] On Thursday 11th December, the Council of the EU will discuss the Maternity Leave Directive, the Women on Boards Directive and the EU Directive on Equal Treatment. In a letter sent to the 28 Permanent Representations to the EU, the European Women’s Lobby calls on EU Ministers to take action to unblock the negotiations of these crucial Directives for women’s rights and gender equality.
