[Brussels, 1 October 2014] Today Commissioners-designate Thyssen (Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility) and Jourová (Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality) were ‘grilled’ in Brussels during their hearings by Members of the European Parliament.

[Brussels, 26 September 2014] The European Anti-Poverty Network and the S&D hosted a half-day conference on the aftermath of the economic crisis, the change in labour market conditions, social inclusion and poverty. Maternity Leave Directive: 4 years overdue, time to deliver now!

[Brussels, 19 September 2014] In the beginning of the Summer, the European Commission threatened to withdraw the Directive in 2014 in the name of ‘red tape’. With the forthcoming hearings for the new European Commission, the EWL and its members will seize the opportunity to get the maternity leave directive back on the political agenda.
